In the 1980s, the company, known as Sunshine Tractors, traded tractors and excavators. Thereafter, the company ventured into construction and subsequently property development in 2002, rebranding itself as Suntrack in the process.
The name and logo holds a deep-rooted connection to our philosophy. Like the Sun, we strive to be reliable and rise each day with energy and passion. Track represents our journey thus far, a path paved with the belief and trust of our customers. James K K Tan kick-started the property development arm of the Group after a short stint as site engineer for highway constructions. He oversaw sales and operations; end-to-end management of each project; land acquisition and feasibility study; product design development; project management of the construction, and delivery of final product to customers. Today, he is supported by a highly-capable senior management team as well as reputable external team of designers and engineers to develop relevant and functional properties that meet the needs of a multi-market segment.
James holds an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Warwick, England. His vision is to build MAGIC (Multi Abilities multi-Generational Inclusive Communities) properties that enables communities to age in place.
James is currently the National Council Member for the Real Estate Housing Developers Assocation of Malaysia (REHDA). In REHDA, he chairs the Planning Policies and Standards committee as well as the Retirement Village Aged Care Subcommittee. He is also a member of the REHDA Selangor branch committee.
